How may the gold discounted recently in Dubai not benefit buyers in India?

Amid the Middle East war, several gold dealers in Dubai are selling gold at discounts of up to $30/ounce compared with global benchmark set in London, reported Bloomberg. However, several shipments of gold remain stuck in Dubai, creating short-term tightness in availability of physical gold in India. Thus, Indians are unlikely to be able to benefit from the discounts.
