How much did Sensex & Nifty fall on October 1 and why?

Sensex fell 570.59 points to 71,909.70 and Nifty 50 declined 198.50 points to 22,421.95 on Thursday. Around ₹5 lakh crore in market value was eroded. Crude oil prices rising above $100/barrel, the rupee falling to 96.31/$, heavy foreign fund outflows and elevated US Treasury yields weighed on sentiment.
