How strong is Denmark's military as US mulls acquiring Greenland?

The White House said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump is discussing options to acquire Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. According to Global Firepower, Denmark’s military ranked 45th in 2025, with 83,000 personnel, 31 fighter jets, 34 helicopters and nine frigates. Denmark controls Greenland’s defence, foreign policy, citizenship and currency.
