Tim Cook, who resigned as Apple's CEO, repeatedly highlighted India as a "huge opportunity" for Apple. He visited India in 2023 to inaugurate the firm's first two retail stores in the country, which have grown to six. Under Cook, Apple now assembles roughly 25% of its global iPhones in India and exports from the country crossed $12.8 billion in 2024.
