How US military funding fuelled China's robot dog boom?

Unitree Robotics, recently added by Pentagon to its list of Chinese military firms, based its robot dogs on innovations funded by US DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory and other military programmes. Researchers said its Go series mirrored MIT's Mini Cheetah. Unitree studied public US military-funded research and leveraged China’s industry to mass-produce cheap robot dogs at scale globally for export.
