How will India’s new caller ID service identify unknown numbers?
India will introduce the Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) service from November 1, 2026, to help identify unknown callers. The service will display the caller's number and name, using saved contacts or the registered name in the telecom operator's database if the number is not saved. International incoming calls will be labelled 'International Call'.
