How will mandatory PF contribution's ₹1,800 cap affect employees?

EPFO's new rules dictate that employers can mandatorily deduct only up to ₹1,800/month from employees' salaries for PF contributions. This means that any contribution from the employee above ₹1,800/month is voluntary, which the company isn't bound to match unless the employment contract states so. If an employee is already contributing more than ₹1,800/month, their contribution remains unchanged.
