How will the draft Income Tax Rules boost take-home salary?

Proposed draft Income Tax Rules 2026 may boost a person's take-home salary due to higher HRA, education and hostel allowances, Moneycontrol reported. When compared to the 1962 rules, this could reportedly allow a person with ₹30 lakh/year gross salary to save ₹1,33,660.80 in tax annually. The draft proposed to increase number of cities in the list for 50% exemption.
