Donald Trump on Friday imposed fresh 10% tariffs on Indian exports to US over inadequate bans on forced labour. Though the tariffs are new, the effective overall tariffs on Indian exports remain unchanged, as the previously applicable 10% tariffs were set to expire on Friday. Thus, the tariffs are only repackaged and are unlikely to add pressure on India's exports.
