HPCL starts work on first cow dung-based compressed biogas project

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Tuesday started its first cow dung-to-compressed biogas project in Rajasthan's Sanchore. Under the GOBAR-Dhan scheme, the plant will utilise 100 tonnes of cow dung per day to produce biogas, which will then be used as automotive fuel. The plant is slated to be commissioned in a year. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in Pathmeda.
