Huawei begins making 5G base stations without parts from US
Telecom equipment maker Huawei said it has begun making 5G base stations without components from the US. This follows US blacklisting Huawei in May over concerns of espionage by the Chinese government. Huawei said it will mass-produce the 5G base stations starting October and expects to produce 1.5 million units next year, compared with 600,000 units estimated for this year.
