Huawei to focus on data-transfer speed to counter US sanctions

Huawei has unveiled a new chip design approach that prioritises faster data transmission instead of shrinking semiconductor sizes. The strategy could help China advance chip performance despite US restrictions. China has been barred since 2019 from importing ASML's most advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, curbing the ability of its chipmakers to keep up with global leaders.
