Hughes India to deliver internet to 5,000 villages using ISRO satellites

Hughes India will be providing internet services to 5,000 remote villages in 15 states and Union Territories using ISRO's communication satellites. The contract has been awarded under BBNL's BharatNet project to provide affordable high-speed broadband access to 2.5 lakh gram panchayats. The project will also connect villages in areas that lack terrestrial connectivity and are affected by Naxals.
