Humanity is privilege, not granted to people like me: Umar Khalid

Activist and former JNU student leader Umar Khalid, in his first interview since being jailed in 2020 over allegations linked to the Delhi riots, said years in prison have affected his mental and emotional well-being. "Humanity is a privilege not granted to people like me," he said. He added that being labelled a terrorist by fellow inmates had dehumanised him.
