Humans go beyond low Earth orbit for 1st time in over 50 years as Artemis II heads towards Moon

Humans have ventured beyond low Earth orbit for the first time in over 50 years as the Artemis II spacecraft completed its translunar injection burn on April 2 and headed toward the Moon. The burn lasted about 5 minutes and 49 seconds. The four-member crew is on an approximately 10-day mission to fly around the Moon and return.
