Humans lived in Europe 10,000 years earlier than thought: Study
Researchers from US, Europe said early humans lived in Europe about 54,000 years ago, 10,000 years earlier than previously believed. They found fossilized homo sapiens remains sandwiched between remains of Neanderthals in Grotte de Mandrin, a cave in France's Rhone Valley, indicating two may have co-existed. Earlier, researchers believed arrival of modern humans led to Neanderthals' extinction.
