Hundreds hug trees to protest against riverfront project in Pune

Hundreds of activists hugged trees, held placards and shouted slogans in Mutha riverbed in Pune to protest against felling of trees for the Pune Riverfront Development project on Saturday. PM Narendra Modi had laid the foundation for the project in 2022. Pune civic body refuted allegations that rare trees would be cut and claimed over 65,000 trees would be planted.
