Hundreds of fish die at Mumbai's Banganga Tank after Pind Daan rituals; BMC takes action
The BMC called a meeting with residents and priests after hundreds of fish were found dead in the 12th-century Banganga Tank in South Mumbai's Walkeshwar. The fish apparently died after Pind Daan rituals were conducted there during the ongoing Pitru Paksha period. Offerings like flour dumplings (pindas), sweets, milk, oil and floral waste were immersed in the body.
