Hyderabad student dies after girlfriend’s mother hits him with bat

A 19-year-old engineering student from Ameenpur, Hyderabad, died after being struck on the head with a cricket bat by his girlfriend's mother during a heated confrontation over the girl's pregnancy. The boy, Sai, collapsed hours later and was declared dead at hospital. Police say it was an act of anger, not honour killing, and are investigating all angles.
