Hydrogen fuel cells power Microsoft data centre servers for 2 days

Microsoft tested using a 250-kilowatt hydrogen fuel system to power a row of its data centre servers for 48 consecutive hours in June. Microsoft plans to procure and test a 3-megawatt fuel cell system next which matches the size of current diesel-powered backup generators. It had announced earlier that it aims to eliminate its dependency on diesel fuel by 2030.
