I-Day celebrations not conducted in border schools in Punjab, NHRC seeks report

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognisance of a complaint about non-observance of Independence Day celebrations in Punjab government schools located in border areas. The government has been asked to identify schools where activities weren't conducted and explain the reasons for such non-compliance. The state has been asked to submit a report within four weeks.
