I started OpenAI after Larry Page called me speciesist: Elon Musk

Elon Musk, during his testimony for his lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, said he founded the startup to serve as a counterweight to Google. Musk added that he got the idea for OpenAI after an argument with Google Co-Founder Larry Page. Musk further said that Page called him a “speciesist for being pro-human” during the argument.
