IAF considering a separate cadre for UAVs

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is reportedly considering creating a separate cadre for a “weapon systems branch” that would mainly include dealing with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The UAV fleet will recruit for roles like surveillance, precision-targeting and managing "armed" drones. The IAF has inducted over 200 UAVs that the Indian armed forces have acquired since the year 2000.
