IAF floats RFP for ‘Vayu Baan’ strike drone project

The Indian Air Force has issued an RFP to develop 'Vayu Baan', a helicopter-dropped loitering munition drone aimed at boosting indigenous strike capabilities. The project includes 10 drones and control systems, with advanced features like AI targeting, GNSS-denied navigation, and up to 80 km range. The system must be delivered within 12 months of contract signing.
