IAF gains MoD nod to lease French A330 MRTT amid Il-78 issues

The Indian Air Force received Ministry of Defence approval to wet-lease one French Airbus A330 MRTT for three years. This decision aims to mitigate the poor serviceability of the IAF’s aging Ilyushin Il-78 tanker fleet and provide crew experience, serving as a stopgap while long-term acquisition plans for six MRTTs face delays.
