IAF to get 60 new transport planes in ₹1 lakh crore: Reports

The Indian Air Force is set to procure 60 medium transport aircraft at an estimated cost of around ₹1 lakh crore, according to reports. Brazil’s Embraer, US-based Lockheed Martin and Russia’s Ilyushin are likely contenders for the deal. Around 12 aircraft may be bought in flyaway condition, while the rest are expected to be manufactured in India, the reports said.
