IAF will retire 12 squadrons of MiG-29 & Mirage-2000 aircraft
The Indian Air Force plans to retire 12 squadrons of MiG-29, Jaguar, and Mirage-2000 aircraft, totalling nearly 200 jets. With Jaguars being the second-largest fleet after the Su-30MKI, their phase-out will significantly reduce overall squadron strength. This move could push the IAF further below its sanctioned 42- Squadron requirement, raising concerns about operational readiness.
