IAS officer behind crackdown on iconic Mumbai food outlets transferred 25 times in 20 yrs

IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, who's behind the crackdown on several iconic Mumbai food outlets, has been transferred 25 times in 20 years. Mundhe, who became Maharashtra’s FDA Commissioner on May 25, has ordered over 1,100 raids in two months, averaging over 20 a day. The licences of 56 restaurants, including the 100-year-old Noor Mohammadi Hotel, have been suspended since then.
