IAS officer Pardeep Kumar arrested on his retirement day in ₹657-crore bank scam

The CBI arrested Haryana IAS officer Pardeep Kumar on his retirement day on Tuesday in connection with the alleged ₹657-crore IDFC First Bank-AU Small Finance Bank scam. According to the CBI, ₹169 crore of Haryana State Pollution Control Board funds, meant for fixed deposits, was misappropriated during his tenure as member secretary. Kumar had allegedly been evading the probe.
