IBM asks employees if they want to volunteer for layoffs: Report

IBM is asking employees if they want to take voluntary redundancy as it undertakes a new round of global job cuts, reported The Register. In the voluntary redundancy process, employees are encouraged to resign voluntarily, for which they are given a financial incentive. Around 50% of IBM's reduction goal will impact staffing levels across the European continent, the report added.
