Ibrahim Mbaye becomes youngest African goalscorer in FIFA WC history
After scoring for Senegal against France in the FIFA World Cup 2026, forward Ibrahim Mbaye became the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history. At 18 years and 142 days, he surpassed former Senegal defender Moussa Wague's record of 19 years and 263 days set in 2018. Notably, Mbaye scored Senegal's only goal in their 1-3 defeat to France.
