Ice lolly was invented accidentally

Ice lolly, also known as popsicle, was invented by 11-year-old Frank Epperson from California in 1905 when he accidentally left a glass filled with water, powdered soda mix and a wooden stick in the open. Owing to the cold weather outside, Epperson found that the contents had frozen to the stick. Around 1923, Epperson filed a patent for his creation.
