ICE officer Castro surrenders over Minneapolis shooting lies

ICE officer Christian Castro surrendered to federal authorities after being charged with making false statements about a January shooting that wounded Venezuelan national Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. Video evidence contradicted officers' accounts. Castro also faces Minnesota state charges of assault and falsely reporting a crime. He remains suspended from ICE without pay.
