ICICI Lombard warns car insurance holders using E20 fuel in non-compatible vehicles

ICICI Lombard has issued a warning to car insurance holders over use of E20 fuel, or petrol blended with 20% ethanol, in non-compatible cars. According to Moneycontrol, the insurer said, "Using a fuel your vehicle wasn't made for can be treated as improper use or negligence...[Insurance] rejection is possible." E20 fuel can be corrosive and can gradually damage engine parts.
