ICMR begins human trials of indigenous KFD vaccine

India has achieved a major milestone against Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), or monkey fever, as ICMR begins Phase-I human trials of a new indigenous vaccine. Developed with Indian Immunologicals and NIV, the two-dose vaccine targets KFD-prone Western Ghats regions and follows successful animal and safety studies.
