ICMR chief explains why gap between 2 Covaxin doses wasn't increased

While explaining why the gap between the two doses of Covaxin has not been increased from the current 4-6 weeks, ICMR chief Dr Balram Bhargava said that immunity after its first shot wasn't very high. With Covaxin, antibody response kicks in only after the second dose, he said. With Covishield immunity after the first shot is quite strong, he added.
