If we don't intervene, it'll divide society: SC as it puts new UGC rules on hold

While putting on hold the new UGC rules, a Supreme Court bench headed by CJI Surya Kant said, "If we don't intervene, it will have a dangerous impact, divide society, and have grave consequences." According to the latest SC directive, the 2012 UGC regulations will continue. It asked the Centre and UGC to file reports too.
