IIT-Bombay considering removing ceiling fans in hostels amid protests over student's suicide

IIT-Bombay is considering replacing ceiling fans in hostel rooms with wall-mounted units amid protests over a student's suicide, stated reports. The decision is expected to be taken during a meeting on Monday. However, officials said the consideration has been in pipeline for months as part of renovation. Several campuses have previously taken similar decision to prevent suicide attempts.
