IIT Bombay’s RubCrete turns tyre waste into tough, green concrete

India generates vast amounts of waste tyres, which helps in the creation of RubCrete, concrete mixed with shredded rubber. IIT Bombay research delved into its microscopic bond, finding a unique porous zone. This makes RubCrete flexible and, surprisingly, resistant to corrosive substances, creating a sustainable material for challenging environments and reducing waste.
