IIT Goa BTech student found dead in hostel room, alleged suicide

A second-year BTech student at IIT Goa was found dead in her hostel room on Saturday, allegedly by suicide, according to police reports. The 19-year-old, originally from Madhya Pradesh and enrolled in the Computer Science and Engineering program, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan by hostel staff after her roommate returned from lunch and found the door locked from the inside.
