IIT Madras incubates over 100 startups, files 431 patents in FY26

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on Monday said it incubated over 100 startups for the second consecutive year under its ‘Startup Shatam’ mission. The institute incubated 112 startups in FY26 through the IITM Incubation Cell. The new startups span deeptech sectors such as manufacturing, robotics, automotive, batteries, defence, aerospace and AI. It also filed 431 patents in FY26.
