IIT professor recalls how his bet built 350 startups as his biography 'Roots & Wings' launches

IIT Madras Professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala's biography 'Roots and Wings' was launched on Tuesday. At the launch event, which Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended as chief guest, Jhunjhunwala recalled building the institute's Research Park by borrowing ₹350 crore from banks. He noted he used the same discipline to help produce 350 startups, like Ather Energy and Tejas Networks, worth ₹70,000 crore.
