IITian turns 11 kg kitchen waste into cooking gas, helps 350 homes

For the past seven years, IITian Priyadarshan Shahastrabuddhe hasn't bought a single LPG cylinder, as per The Better India. He cooks using gas from a biodigester that processes about 11 kg of kitchen waste from his neighbour's home every day, producing nearly 800 litres of cooking gas. Over 350 homes are using the system, saving an estimated 2,500 LPG cylinders/year.
