IITs facing 34% shortage of faculty, highest at IIT-Goa

The 23 IITs are facing an average 34% shortage of faculty, with IIT-Goa having the highest vacancies at 62%. IIT-Mandi is the only institute to have more faculty members than its sanctioned strength. The institutes also face an increasing number of vacant seats for students, with a total of 274 seats going vacant since 2013.
