IMD has forecast above normal monsoon, but they're often wrong

Since 2001, IMD has over-predicted rainfall 9 times, under-predicted 7 times, and got it right only 7 times. While the prediction for above normal monsoon in 2024 after a dry and hot spell does bring optimism, their historical accuracy hasn't been great. It is well established that an above normal monsoon boosts farm output and allied sectors grow.
