IMD issues 2-day heatwave alert for Mumbai, neighbouring districts

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for February 25 and 26 for Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Raigad districts in Maharashtra. Mumbai recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature in past five years in February at 38.4°C. IMD scientist Sushma Nair said the temperatures are likely to be in the range of 37 to 38°C for next two days.
