IMD sounds red alert for heavy rain in 2 districts of Kerala

The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday sounded a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Kerala's Kozhikode and Malappuram districts for the next 24 hours. It also predicted heavy rainfall in six other districts, following which the state announced a holiday for all educational institutions in these areas. The death toll from rain-related incidents in Kerala has risen to 92.
