IMF expresses concerns as El Salvador makes Bitcoin legal tender

The International Monetary Fund has said that El Salvador's move to make Bitcoin a legal tender "raises a number of macroeconomic, financial and legal issues" that require very careful analysis. "We are following developments closely, and we'll continue our consultations with the authorities," Gerry Rice, an IMF spokesperson, said. El Salvador has been seeking a $1-billion credit program from IMF.
