IMF likely to lower global economic growth estimates due to Omicron: MD
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is likely to lower its global economic growth estimates due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, its MD Kristalina Georgieva said. "A new variant that may spread very rapidly can dent confidence...we're likely to see some downgrades of our October projections," she added. The Omicron variant has been detected in around 40 countries, officials said.
