In a 1st, chemists synthesise anti-cancer agent discovered 50 years ago

Chemists from MIT have, for the first time, synthesised an anti-cancer agent called verticillin A, which was discovered over 50 years ago. The research was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Notably, a modified version of the fungal compound showed particular promise against a rare paediatric brain tumour during experiments with human cancer cells.
